The De-briefing Major Update
To The Moon! » Devlog
I just spent nearly two weeks working out in the woods, so there's been quite a bit of radio silence, and frankly very little work done on the game until a few days ago, but I am once again here with a pretty beefy update. I've taken some time over the past few days to put together a "long term" roadmap for the game, and I'm very excited for where this is going. As far as this update is concerned, I've only been working on it since Thursday, but it brings some pretty important new things and bug fixes.
New Features
- Crew System
- 2 new crew types (for now, several more are already in the works)
- Simulation Speed Selector
- You can now go anywhere from the old real time speed all the way up to 10x speed
- Program Appearance Settings
- You can now change the appearance of the program using a setting menu
- Now defaults to match the system appearance instead of a generic cross platform appearance
- New appearances can be modded in using the modding SDK (Dark mode anyone?)
- This also brings in the foundations for several other (unrelated) features on the roadmap
- New Quick Actions
- Automatic reactor adjustments
- Automatic temperature adjustments
- Automatic reactor SCRAMing
- Quick Actions are now locked without the necessary crew members
- Mission De-brief Screen
- On this screen you can view all of the data from the mission after the mission is failed or when you decide to end it
- Mission failures no longer just close the game out
- Gives you a chance to export data after the game ends
- Life Support Data Collection
- Similar to the flight data collection from before
- This can be exported in the same menu as the rest of the data
New Content
- 2 New Crew Member Types
- Captain
- Allows the use of the auto-jettison and auto-ignite quick actions
- Technician
- Allows the use of the auto-adjust reactor, auto-adjust temperature, and auto-SCRAM quick actions
- Allows the reactor to be reactivated after SCRAMing
- Captain
Bug Fixes
- Simulation no longer randomly freezes after ~11-15 minutes
- Simulation no longer randomly freezes after jettisoning all engines
- Mission timer no longer starts before the launch button is pressed
Note to Modders
As part of this update, there were breaking changes to the modding SDK. An updating version of the SDK has also been released.
